3D Stylized Material Study

Did a short NPR project of imitating the material cube studies which concept artists do, but instead of 2D, I did it in 3D. What you see is actual geometry. And a mix of different techniques I used on all three cubes.

1. Wax Cube: The most cartoonish look. A lot of sculpting was required.
2. Water Cube: Slightly less cartoonish, and similar to the water-shader used in stylized games. Some node magic in there.
3. Rock with Moss Cube: Even less cartoonish, than the water cube, but very much still stylized. Even the butterflies are 3D ;)

The goal of this study was to advance my knowledge of stylized materials, and reproducing them. It was originally planned to be a 5 cubes project, but decided to keep it at 3, and wrap it up .. as I have a backlog of nearly-finished larger scenes. Done in Cycles, Blender.
